Child Flight Safety - In-Flight Infant Hammock (25 LB maximum)
SKU: TV175001
|
Overview
Clever in-flight hammock is designed for use with children weighing up to 25 pounds to provide greater comfort and security for a child not otherwise restrained during the cruise portion of travel.
The product's three point harness system will help keep a child secure, but in the event of turbulence, it is recommended and stated in the instructions that the child be removed from the seat. This product is NOT an FAA-approved CRS (child restraint system) and should never be used in a moving car or truck. Also, when used on an aircraft, it is NOT approved for take-off or landing.
The FAA has reviewed the product and deemed it acceptable for use during the cruise portion of the flight. Should you encounter a flight attendant not familiar with the product or the FAA regulations concerning its use, you can explain that you are following FAA regulations and only using it during the cruise portion of the flight (not during taxi, take-off or landing).
- Hammock-style design provides comfortable face-to-face positioning of child relative to parent.
- There is a height marker on the product to show that the baby’s head should not be above this line to prevent contact with the seat in front. (NOTE: A specific maximum height of the child is not provided because there are a variety of factors other than the exact height of the baby that come in to play when using the product on an airplane, such as the size of the adult sitting with the baby and the distance between the two seats. Do not use the product if the child's head is touching the seat in front of you. When used on an airplane, the majority of the baby’s weight is resting on the adults lap. Taller babies can be adjusted so that their legs straddle the adult’s waist but the overall comfort of the baby and whether or not the baby’s head will be at or below the height marker is determined by all of the above factors. In evaluating height relative to the recommended maximum, do not lay the product on a flat surface and then place the baby on top of it to see where his or her head is in relation to the Head Height Marker because when the product is installed on an airplane it creates a concave shape which will position the baby differently compared to a flat surface.)
- There is no maximum age for the product. Weight and height should be used to determine if the product will work as designed.
- Easy to install.
Installation
- Attaches to the tray table of the seat in front of you.
- The product may not work in some first class sections due to the spacing of the seats or where the tray table for the parent's seat is located in the parent's armrest vs. on the back of the seat ahead.
- Inform anyone sitting in front of you that you intend to use the hammock during the cruise portion of the flight so that if that person wishes to recline his or her seat you can coordinate the re-positioning of your child to accommodate the different seat position.
- Estimated time to install: 3 minutes
- Recommended tools/equipment: none
