If you should experience a fire and your preferred means of exiting is blocked by smoke or flames, having a second way out is essential.

This ladder mounts into the wall underneath a window to provide an easily-accessible means of escape.  Attractive cabinet can be painted to complement the look of the surrounding area.

This ladder is best mounted during the construction of a home vs. as a retro-fit in order to facilitate easy placement in the wall.

In selecting the proper length ladder to meet your needs, measure the longest potential distance from the window sill to the ground. Add length as necessary for obstructions such as roof overhangs.  If you do not have a tape measure that is long enough, use a rope to establish the full distance to the ground and then measure the length of rope used. The ladder should be long enough to get the user to within 2 feet of the ground.

 Usage

• For use in emergency situations only, when all other escape options are exhausted and waiting for help is not possible.
• In an emergency, if possible close doors between yourself and the fire before opening windows to avoid intensifying the fire.
