Overview
Cleverly designed escape device helps ensure you have a safe "second way out" for a small child in the event of a fire emergency. Fires are particularly dangerous for young because they are completely reliant on adult intervention, and children have small lungs and must be rescued quickly.
- Intended for use in buildings up to 5 stories (device is 60 feet long when fully deployed)
- Recommended for infants, babies and toddlers up to 75 pounds
- Designed by firefighters
- Water-resistant outer layer
- Conforms to child's body
- Nylon draw string secures bag and prevents child from opening from inside
- Made with flame-retardant ballistic nylon with PVC coated mesh netting to allow for free flow of air
- Stored in small pouch for easy storage
- Manufactured under ISO 9001:2008 quality management system
Usage
- Designed for one-time use only; manufacturer will replace the product at no charge if it is used in a documented fire
- Bag is not heat resistant and is not to be used if you need to lower a child near or through flames
- Do not use if you cannot lower child safely the full distance to the ground
- Do not open the outer storage bag or handle the unit unless and until it is needed for emergency use; otherwise, it may not function properly when needed
- If the bag has been opened or is damaged, DO NOT USE. Contact the manufacturer for assistance.
- Do not store the bag in direct sunlight, a damp environment or at elevated temperatures
- It is recommended to replace the bag every 10 years to maintain optimal strength and performance
- In an emergency:
- Call 911
- Bring child to area from which you will lower him/her to safety
- If possible/applicable, close any door leading to the room you are in before opening the window
- Remove bag and webbing material from outer bag
- Open bag and place child inside
- Close drawstring completely at top of bag and fasten safety clip
- Remove webbing strap from packaging and uncoil
- Make sure webbing strap is not tangled and is attached securely to bag
- Hold onto webbing strap and lower bag hand-over-hand from the window to a safe landing area
